The new ad!
Baby steps. That has been the development process of our new Wichita wedding photography business. We bought our first advertisement last month and here it is. Our designer, Matt Pendergraff, of Pendergraphics Design Group, in Oklahoma, built this for us. He is also in the process of finishing our awesome site for the web real soon. The ad hits the street this month in a few publications and we are very excited about this venture. Matt's help has been above and beyond with his efforts on this and we appreciate it very much. He recognized some of the key things in Steve and I's past and present and ran with it. Smart boy. Again, the site launches very soon, we have several weddings booked already, we are in high gear for the future of our little venture.

Light
Steve and I take every wedding as a challenge and we critique each wedding after we shoot it. This gives us a chance to look and see what we like and don't like. What can we do better next time? This shot of Steve's is a perfect example. We wanted our reception photographs to be as nice as our wedding photographs. We wanted a perfect set of images from start to finish. We both believe that light is the key. Photography is light. The moments are always there, but we want it to be perfect. At the reception one of us is shooting and the other is lighting the scene, it just helps the photograph we are trying to make nicer. Steve and I come from the same background so we often think the same, so this process comes natural to both of us. I push Steve and he pushes me, the client gets a better product, we get to make nice photos....Great shot Raz!

We do!
Welcome to our new blog and our first post. We will use this blog to update our wedding business and give people a chance to see some of our work. We are excited about the chance to make beautiful and story-telling photographs for clients that want the story of their wedding to be told through our eyes. We have tested the waters the last couple of years and are excited to work together to produce beautiful wedding books for our clients. The website is coming, slowly but surely, stay tuned. Steve's studio at 214 N. Washington will soon have a cool and hip window front with our new biz posted all over it, lots of photos of course.
Steve Rasmussen and Jeff Tuttle met at Kansas State University in 1985. Both of them were photojournalism students who worked for the KSU newspaper and yearbook as staff photographers. Tuttle and his wife, Laura, introduced Rasmussen to his wife, Sandy, the following year on a blind date. Laura and Sandy were both interior design students, so making the connection was fun for both couples.
After college Rasmussen worked at the Hays Daily News, in Hays, Kansas. Tuttle moved to Indiana to work at the Jasper Herald, in Jasper, Indiana. Both newspapers were small, but nationally renowned photojournalism based newspapers. Tuttle returned to Wichita in 1989, Rasmussen followed soon after.
Rasmussen began with a few contacts in Wichita and built his commercial photography business from the ground up. Steve has developed a unique expression of his trade that results in beautiful photographs. His passion behind the camera is matched by the time he puts in the final product for the client. His work on the computer end of the photograph is second to none. His clients love his calm demeanor and his professionalism towards his trade. Steve provides photographs for corporate clients all over the United States and Mexico. His style is unique, as his background in photojournalism has trained his eye to tell the story in his photographs. He and his wife, Sandy, have two children.
Tuttle has worked for the Wichita Eagle as a photojournalist for 21 years. Jeff has been involved in all aspects of newspaper photography including news, sports, features and editorial photography. Jeff is a two time regional photographer of the year, and was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize. Jeff has been awarded numerous national awards for his work in photojournalism during his career as his photographs have told a comprehensive visual story to his readers. His passion and enthusiasm for his work leave him at the top of his trade. As a veteran photojournalist, Jeff has a keen sense of timing and instinct giving him the ability to capture the moment at hand. Jeff and his wife Laura have two children.
The decision to collaborate in wedding photography was based on the desire to share their expertise and experience in photojournalism to tell the story of the wedding day, which in turn provided a great opportunity to work together again. Steve and Jeff are dedicated to providing the highest quality work and welcome the opportunity to work with you and your family on one of the most significant days of your life. They want their pictures to tell your story.
